May 2020 Meeting

Jon,

Fantastic presentation last week. I enjoyed my visit to the MUG and will return!

After doing some thinking, and learning, it seems that a Raid 5 is not a backup solution. I'm wondering if a Raid 1 with say 8 drives (4 net) would be a better solution for a home media server... say like Plex.

Thoughts?

Ron

Next meeting: Tuesday, 12 May 2020, Virtual Meeting

First Half Hour at 6 PM
Virtual Main Presentation about 6:45 PM

Topic: Apple Maps & iCloud Folder Sharing w/ Steve Sande

We will continue with our virtual meetings via Zoom. Expect the invitation to appear in members' email up to 1 day before the meeting with the exact time of the meeting --  probably about 6:45 PM

Steve Sande will be joining us to talk about two topics; Apple Maps & iCloud Folder Sharing. Apple Maps has many new features, including those designed to help with the pandemic. iCloud Folder Sharing is a new feature that works in iOS 13.4, macOS 10.15.4 Catalina or on the web using iCloud Drive.

Apple Maps now has better coverage, pedestrian data, detailed land cover, and 3D coverage in major cities. iCloud Folder Sharing allows you to share entire folders of files with friends and coworkers. These are terrific updates, so join the virtual meeting and learn how to use them!

(for non-pandemic months) The meeting is at the Metrum Credit Union, 1/3 of a mile south of Arapahoe on the east side of Holly in Centennial. The doors will open at 6 PM, and the visit time will be from 6 PM to 6:30 PM. A good time to ask questions and get advice from fellow members!

(for non-pandemic months) As always, we will meet about 5 PM at the Panera Bread on the SE corner of Holly and Orchard for a little supper.
