June 2017 Meeting

Jon,

Fantastic presentation last week. I enjoyed my visit to the MUG and will return!

After doing some thinking, and learning, it seems that a Raid 5 is not a backup solution. I'm wondering if a Raid 1 with say 8 drives (4 net) would be a better solution for a home media server... say like Plex.

Thoughts?

Ron

Next meeting: Tuesday, 13 June, 2017

First Half Hour at 6 PM
Main Presentation at 6:30 PM
Take Control of Your Digital Legacy

Joe Kissell has a new ebook called Take Control of Your Digital Legacy. Joe will discuss this book and will give critical information you need. Joe will teach you how to identify key digital assets, plan for each type of asset, communicate your wishes to loved ones, and preserve data for the future. You may think you have planned for the future, but you may be surprised at the gaps you have left.

Joe and his wife recently took over control of the Take Control book series from Adam and Tanya Engst. We will learn what the future holds for this terrific book series.

In addition, WWDC, Apple's developer conference will close just days before this meeting. We will review all of the announcements from WWDC.

The meeting is at the Metrum Credit Union, 1/3 of a mile south of Arapahoe on the east side of Holly in Centennial. The doors will open at 6 PM, and the visit time will be from 6 PM to 6:30 PM. A good time to ask questions and get advice from fellow members! As always, we will meet about 5 PM and the Panera Bread on the SE corner of Holly and Orchard for a little supper.
