September 2017 Meeting

Jon,

Fantastic presentation last week. I enjoyed my visit to the MUG and will return!

After doing some thinking, and learning, it seems that a Raid 5 is not a backup solution. I'm wondering if a Raid 1 with say 8 drives (4 net) would be a better solution for a home media server... say like Plex.

Thoughts?

Ron

Next meeting: Tuesday, 12 Sept, 2017

First Half Hour at 6 PM
Main Presentation at 6:30 PM
Programming for Fun

Have you ever wondered how developers create all of the apps you use on the Mac and iOS devices? Come to the September meeting and find out.

Chris Domino and Rick Hyman will lead a session on programming using the latest fun tools, free from Apple and other vendors. They will lead you through exercises that demonstrate the methods and logic behind apps. Get started on this fun learning, and you will be able to show your children and grandchildren that you aren't behind the times! Or better yet, teach them how to get going on their own path to developing an app or game.

Bring an iPad along if you can (iPad Air or iPad mini 2 or newer) with "playgrounds" downloaded for free from the App Store. Chris will have a few iPads available.

Bring your questions!

The meeting is at the Metrum Credit Union, 1/3 of a mile south of Arapahoe on the east side of Holly in Centennial. The doors will open at 6 PM, and the visit time will be from 6 PM to 6:30 PM. A good time to ask questions and get advice from fellow members! As always, we will meet about 5 PM and the Panera Bread on the SE corner of Holly and Orchard for a little supper.
